Marking "Foums read"

Morning all.

When I've checked the posts I still have the coloured threads which effectively shows I have not read them, so I click "mark forums read". The forum does mark all threads as 'read' for that session, but on the next login the threads are shown as unread. Why?

i do the same as you russell and mine works..i think someone mentioned cookies need to be on..

I would suggest to clean up your browser. Delete files and cookies that might help.

Russell your not alone. I am having the same problem. Have tried the cookie and cache cleaning up but still no look.

Here's my work around.

I always go in to the site via the front page.

That then tells me that there are X number of new posts.

I click on that to reveal the posts.

Once I have read them I hit the back button and then read the next and continue with this until the end.

Then I click on "Quick Links" and select "Mark Forums Read"

If and when I reply to a thread I start from the front page again and this time it is clear what I have read/not read.

Bit long-winded, but it works.

i sort of do the same as Paul read all the posts refresh then check that i have not missed any, mark all as read and clear history

I read the messages in a "sub-section". Then click "refresh". Then back.

Works for me, but it is becoming irritating.
