Why are we suddenly getting so many SPAM posts

In the last few days, there have been several started by 'new' members. Has something changed in the user authentication process to allow this to happen ?

I have been out today, so it seems logical.

These are actual human beings as opposed to net bots, not much we/I can do about them other than ban their ****s, as I have just done.

The best way is to click on the triangle at the top of each post. This way we get an email to alerts us.

TBH the spammers have backed off a lot since Saturday.

I now check every new member's IP address against a database of known spammers.
