As some of you already know the site is being subjected to daily attack by spammers. Unlike the previous software package that was open to attack by netbots this one requires actual humans to register.
Over the last 72 hours we've seen over 20 "new members" and one or two unwelcome posts. The software has been altered so that the admins have to approve every new member. We've also gone back to banning certain email addresses. I will not tell you here what they are, for obvious reasons!
I know that one spammer got through the "net" and had been sending spam private messages. Got him, he's gone. However if you do receive any strange messages then please forward them to me, Lee or Tony & we'll ban the account. Don't click on any link as that might take you somewhere that you don't want to be, and/or trigger the download of a virus/spyware/malware.
If you see a post that you think should not be on the site then please use the "report a post" feature that is top right of every post. This sends an email to all mods & admins & we'll take it down as soon as poss.
With a bit of luck they'll get bored with trying & move on, fingers crossed.
