A mate of mine called earlier today in connection with a cycling buddy of his.
During the Feb half term the cyclist was knocked off his bike close to Thruxton, Hampshire, by the driver of a silver S-Max. The driver stopped, got out, then got back in & drove off!!!
Witness behind only got a partial plate number.
Cyclist is ok, but very shaken. Hospital said that if it were not for the helmet he was wearing & the fact that the witness stopped & called 999 then he would have died.
In posting this announcement I am hoping that if it is one of our members then this might serve to tweak their conscience.
I am told that Hampshire Constabulary are talking to local parts departments, but it could easily be a driver from out of the area and who then would know?
