Lee

The forum will go offline in the not too distant future while we change servers and update the forum to the latest software available.

I will try and make the downtime as little time as possible but it may take a couple of days to transfer.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Lee

I think it was his first time then we have faith that he won't lose anything anyway he did say if any post lost he would give us all a £1000 pounds and a signed naked photo of martin

Paul

No, not like that!

This one is a controlled take down, install new software & then - hopefully - voila! :8):

We need a poll.

Paul

There isn't that amount in the kitty, but I bet that we could find a few of Martin's signed pictures lying around the server room

Ok Guys will go down from 8pm tomorrow night for approx 48 hours whilst the nameservers change and the new forum is installed and permissions checked before i put it live again.

Hopefully SMAXOC will benefit from the change and 2010 will be the best year yet.

The homepage will be more website based than forum based, so more proffessional.

The main upgrade is behind the scenes, security upgrades etc. As for the garage there will not be a release for it yet but hopefully it will come soon.

Oh ####!

Tomorrow's the 11th, so 48 hours afterwards is the 13th.

Last server failure was also the 13th, though a Friday :surprised:

What's 'the garage'?

Paul
11-01-2010, 08:03
Kind of as the name suggests it's an area where you upload pictures of your own car, plus details of modifications etc, and other members can 'visit' your garage.

This was a feature of the PHPBB software that we used until 'The Great Server Crash of 2008'. We then swapped to vBulletin3.x and now we're swapping to vBulletin 4.x
