Just spent 15 minutes typing out a post on wheel sizes. Finally hit "submit" and - hey presto - got "cannot find server" and my work is lost in the ether.

I'm reluctant to spend time putting stuff onto the site until we're convinced it's going to remain stable, and securely backed up.

it seems to me that while you've been typing these long messages, you are logged out. Next time you log in, tick the box under the password that says "Log me on automatically each visit:"
I think that will solve it for you.
