If you want Charlotte back, she needs 90kb, and more pixels :D

Alan

She will work if you upload her on to a photobucket account first then use the direct link from that instead.

Have tested it and it works.

What do you do if you have no idea what photo bucket is and your profile picture refuses to show?

What do you do if you have no idea what photo bucket is and your profile picture refuses to show?

You open a photo editor, like paint on windows, reduce the size of your picture for avatar to the dimentions written in the "refusal" note and attach it again. :D

Adie
04-09-2008, 12:01
I didn't get any refusal note. It shows it's uploaded but doesn't display.

, you sure it is uploaded? is it jpeg? sometimes it doesn't upload and just returns you the same upload page, but sowhere there is written a size - 800 by <something I dont remember> pics.

Adie
04-09-2008, 12:05
It's ok - new buttons and stuff on the forum. I was adding it to my profile picture and it was doing nothing. I then saw the avatar picture and bingo, problem solved.

Thanks.

Err, I had an avatar on my User CP, now it's disappeared.

When I try to add the avatar again I get an error message.
I'm uploading from Photobucket so added the url in the field specified ... what's happened?

Puzzled....

Alan
05-09-2008, 08:43
Its something wrong on the site not photobucket. Just tried it and I get this error message "Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file."

Russell

OK - thought it was me.
I had an avatar loaded last week, but it disappeared in the meantime.
Odd, but there you go....

Paul

After you tell the site to upload don't then press "save" as that triggers the error message.

It seems illogical, but that's how I got mine to work.

Can't get Charlotte to bounce.

How big is she? I can't get John Cleese to walk. I noticed he is 26kb and the limit is 19.5kb.

"Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 140 by 105 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller). "

Have you tried uploading directly on to the site now the limits have been increased. That's how have got mine to work.

Very odd, other animated avatars I upload from my computer seem to work, but Charlotte won't bounce:(.
If I try and upload her from photobucket I am also getting the "Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file." message.

Probably a silly question, but is there an automatic content filter which is recognizing the bounce for what it is, but doesn't realise there is cloths covering the bounce.
Not being a computer expert, not sure how clever/stupid filters can be.
