I'm looking for an isofix child-seat. Has anyone got one they want to sell, or has anyone got any advice about the best one to buy.
Thanks in advance.

I have not got one to sell but I have only ever used isofix seats for the last 5 years, there are several companys who make them such as Jane or Britax,i have only every bought Britax.
I currently have the Britax Duo Plus Isofix approx 9 months - 4 years old for my 3 year old along with the Britax Kidfix isofit seat from 4 years until 11 years for my 5 year old daughter.
With the Britax Duo Plus you also need to use the top tether which goes over the rear of the seat and clips to the rear of the second row seat, you can use this on either side of the vehicle with the isofix seat points.
The Britax kidfit uses the isofix anchorage points and then the 3 point seat belt fitted to the car, I will not use any other car seat than isofix due to the stability of the seat and easy of use.
As far as brands go I have only used Britax based on my knowledge of their awards and advice on tests from the which website as they have some very useful information.
You can also view a video of normal child seat versus isofix in a crash test situation.

Thanks for your reply. Why does it need the top tether in the S Max and not in other cars?
We also have the same seat, and I found it weird also, that in our XC90 it didn't need the tehter, but in the S-Max, and indeed pretty much every other Ford, it did... I emailed Britax and their response was along the lines of "owing to the slightly softer seat base in the Fords, there is the slight possibility that in a severe impact, the seat would tilt forward more than in other cars, and if the restraining harness (straps) were not correctly tensioned, the infant could, possibly break free of the straps"
As I ALWAYS correctly strap little ones in tightly and safely, AND use a 4mm thick polycarbonate seat protector under the car seat (prevents marks in the leather) I am confident that in my car, the seat will not "roll forward" indeed even with a 12stone adult tugging on it, there is no "give" as the seat protector refuses to allow the child seat to press into the car seat base....

Asamalex, I also have a Britax Duo Plus Isofix, which was used with no tehter. None supplied with seat and in my mind the seat is secure without it - but please do seek the advice of britax.
Ours is no longer used - if you or anyone is interested in this let me known - its just taking up space in our dinning room - maybe a donation to a kiddies charity + P&P?

Thanks for the offer but I bought one off ebay in the end. I also bought the "top-tether" as Britax said that you must use it. For the sake of £12 I thought that I might as well do it and then I wouldn't have to worry about it.
It's a great car seat and I would recommend it to anyone.
Cheers.
