Hi could anyone let me know if anyone is selling one of these units. Either the 6cd or single cd.

They have some on ebay but they are with grey surrounds and obviously need the silver surround.

Thanks

The surround is removable and could easily be re-sprayed the required colour.

Yes was thinking that but need to know the right colour silver and have to be careful the paint would not flake off

I appreciate this is an old thread but I too am interested in getting my hands on the Sony head unit for my S-Max again with silver surround. The cost from a dealer is astronomical (almost £600) so I'd be interested in a used unit but could you tell me about the Kenwood unit you went for?

Is it a full size unit or standard ISO fitting and is it compatible with all the dash display and steering wheel controls?

Could you tell me what model it is and if poss provide pics of it in situ in your car?

Thanks

The install pics are here. http://www.smaxownersclub.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1137

The Kenwood units are double din, easy to install (with the right leads) and compatible with steering controls, but do not interface with convers/dash display although that's no great loss!

As a car audio repair engineer I would recommend fitting aftermarket compared to messing around with Ford units, as it will be cheaper, easier, look better, work better and sound better.

I do love what you have done with the unit how much do you think somebody would charge to fit?

Hi guys, I would like to point out that the link I supplied was to 'mrgoodge' install photo's - NOT MINE!
I did help with his install though by offering free technical advice as I would with any SMOC member!
It was also 'mrgoodge' with the Kenwood contact, so I would ask him about discounts, although I would be willing to offer a discount on installation if required.

Thanks for the link to the pictures it looks excellent. I've done a search on the cost of the head unit and although cheaper than the Sony unit via Ford it's still a lot of cash.

I'll give it consideration but will have to stick with the standard 6000cd unit I have in mine at the moment.
