Interesting information, especially about the interior.

      Very interesting!
Like the sound system, wonder if that will be standard on the titanium.

Mrs B saw the video earlier & asked if I fancied a new S-Max next Jan.

Answer is I don't, but only for selfish personal reasons such as I want something smaller & much sportier such as a RenaultSport Clio 200.

Saw one in the flesh last weekend and was very tempted in to spending £15,000

I hope to get a new S-MAX. Will be a Titanium this time. Just need to sell the house, move to Cumbria and get a job once we are up there.

why didn't he play some music from the new sound system then if it's supposed to be that good?

not liking the alloy wheel design

i do like the led lighting inside the car.. but not too fussed about that...

if you've got the "child mirror" down, then surely it looks to be blocking the main mirror? ... not sure...

i guess we'll come to love it in the years to come anyway

I would also have liked to hear the sound system. It's a shame he didn't show us the lights on or the electric roof blind either.

Sub woofer takes one of the storage areas under the rear passenger floor, not sure I like that, loses a very useful storage area if you are traveling 'heavy'.
Are the alloys an attempt by Ford to force you to upgrade them? Don't like them, a sort of tarted up Zetec 16'' wheel.

This 1st thing that made me laugh was chrome window trims .... "not seen since the Granada in '82..." yeah, there's a reason for that - Chrome, that much of it, (not google!) is very 70s/80s, IMHO.

Look at BMW/Mercedes - most people DELETE the chrome trims when ordering. My highly specced 530d Touring only had a chrome grille, not windows/boot trim.

I agree with Barry on the sub-woofer/floor storage issue. That floor section is very useful for storing stuff out of the way, although I'm still surprised it's really a loose 'lid' again on the newest version?
      "Premium vehicle?" No.

It's also a shame Ford took 4 years to realise the child mirror they fitted in the Galaxy from 2006 was also wanted by soooo many in the S-Max. How many questions were raised about retrofitting that? Loads!

I do like the DRL and new rear lights, but not the 'spoiler' effect below the tailgate window. We've all seen how filthy the back of the current S-Max gets, and how much spray they create. Would that spoiler reduce spray, or give the water/dirt somewhere to 'stick' more easily?

In any case, the Ford corporate gob front end is growing on me, and I could see Mrs.Russell having a newer S-Max in the future. Would I have 2 S-Maxii in the house again? No. Like Paul, already thinking of something sportier again. I do miss my lovely S3 on the country roads I use for my commute.

      I think I've commented enough here ....

I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh, and driving the new EcoBoost engine. We have a 2.5T (which the wife uses), so curious how the new engine compares - it looks to be about 10% down on power and about 5% down on torque

Wonder if Mountune will have a look at it - like they looked at the Focus ST

Like all the new mods being proposed - inside and out. I have an Audi A4 with a special edition pack which deleted the chrome window trim for black - I actually prefer the chrome trim on the A4. However on my old 330 coupe (many years ago), I deleted chrome for black ... so I guess its all a bit subjective ..

I am taking over the S-Max in May, when my company Audi goes back, and am getting the Missus a new Golf GTI to ferry the kids around in during the week ...

i see that the car in the video has the key less system too

wonder if that will be an option

All looks very nice but have they addressed the poor fuel economy of the 2 litre auto diesel (mine struggles along around 35 mpg on a run) and the front tyre wear (managed 15K from the last set)

Fuel economy, probably with the powershift gearbox as an option on the TDCi (and standard on 200bhp 2.0 Ecoboost petrols) but unlikely the tyre wear (unless I missed the bit where Ford made the S-Max four wheel drive!)

I don't like the way he keeps mentioning 'premium'.
Usually means we are in for a serious price hike.
And while I am on the subject has anyone else noticed that since VAT went back up 2.5%, everything in the shops has gone up by at least 10%?

      Rant over.

I quite like it. I am wondering what the 'Premium' prices will be, and when the discounts will start?

Prepare to be disappointed on discounts.

I have a good idea, but have agreed to keep schtum.

You will have to wait until late March.
