    Red face Hi, soon to be an SMAX owner!

    Great site...

    Im now looking to buy a SMAX as we have now just had our 4th child and couldnt believe my luck when i stumbled across this forum!

    Currently i have a 2006 ST220 Mondeo so im looking for a 2.5T to keep in lines with the power side of things, and Im after a titanium spec to keep in the luxury im now used to so it looks like im going to have to buy one with slightly higher miles as funds are not great.

    Is there any major issues with these? The 2 i have found have both done around 75,000.

    Any help and advice would be great

    Thanks in advance Danny

    There are some niggly faults, but the engine & 'box are fine.

    Engine is a Volvo unit :: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_Modular_engine

    B5254T7
    The B5254T7 is a slight adaptation of the B5254T3. It has VVT and is turbocharged and intercooled. The turbocharger is still integrated into the exhaust manifold, but is of a different design.
    Using the M66W (FWD) or M66C (AWD) manual transmission output is 227 hp (169 kW) at 5000 rpm with 236 ft·lbf (320 N m) of torque at 1500-5000 rpm. With the AW55-51 automatic transmission, torque is limited in first and second gear.
    Applications:
    2006-2010 Ford Focus ST
    2006- Volvo C70 T5
    2007- Volvo S40 T5
    2007- Volvo V50 T5
    2008- Volvo C30 T5

    Essentially same engine as the Focus ST, but adjusted to reduce CO2 emissions to fall under the 225g/km limit.

    Please look through the petrol section for general comments & advice
