Car insurance !
Iam starting a new link to some car insurance web sites that you might want to get a quick quote
As yet my understanding on matin Lewis ( link below) that brokers just sell your details and they charge you more money for add ons like legal help , winscreen cover ,
Accident Management Assistance, any much more
I would also say that I have been looking at reviews to do with brokers , please google the company on review well worth to see how they have dealt with things when it all goes wrong .
I always like to save myself and anybody who knows me Money and will say that many brokers go bust and you can lose your money & car insurance if that happens ( this was also taken from the Martin Lewis web site
You might save £5 for going with let's say jasonmarie car insurance but I might not include stuff kept in your car or winscreen cover or a hire car even if it's your fault
So in the long run the insurance company I signed you to was a lot better deal .
Also I read tonight that lets say I go on go-compair and they say The AA is the cheapest don't sign up with go-compair . Pick up that phone to the AA and 99% of the time your get even a better deal
With a company that have all the little add ons you think your getting .
Let's hope you save money & if you think you got a good deal , please let us know

Thanks for all the info J.M, can't beat a bit of martin Lewis.
I am with Aviva and have saved a lot of ££ compared to the quotes I get at the same time from a broker who I used to use for many years a while back, also go compare don't get anywhere near the aviva prices.

Funnily enough my insurance renewal came through this morning for the 19th @ £319 but that covers work & high mileage use.I have had the S-Max 1 year already! Anyway a brief look on a comparison site with the same details is £265 so with a bit more searching & haggling it should be around the £250 mark which is pretty good.

Getting the blank edit screens again with this thread !!

Seems like my compare the market quote above @ £265 before haggling is a good one.
Clean licence
12 years no claims
£0 voluntary excess
Wife also inc same as above
Mega mileage
SDP + Commute + work
Parked on drive at night & road during day
Windscreen cover
Protected no claims
TDI tuning box
Fird 20" wheels
Premium gone up to £295 (forgot to add those last 2 extras previously. It was only the box that raised ir, the wheels were ok)
What sort of premiums you guys paying?
-
Cant edit the above without loosing it all !!
Had to go on the insurers web site and add the tuning box under modifications. When i explained i needed the extra torques for lugging around a vehicle full of equipment all the time they emailed back it was ok & a valid reasonl & would cost £30 extra. Maybe haggling will bring it down a bit or is that just pushing my luck?
-
I would still try it's only a phone call but well done that man
So this is a live top tip it does pay to haggle
Here's a little top tip video about haggling and I never thought of the ending to it well worth a watch

Yeah, thanks for p1ssing off Chris Knott Insurance, Jason.
Really helpful.
Maybe you can find some other ways of creating more unnecessary work for me having to deal with disgruntled sponsors?
The finger is hovering around the delete button...
-
Thought there was a thing about bad lanaguge on the site . But I see it's ok for you to use it
If you want to delete me from the site then that is up to you ,
So if this is my last post I say a big goodbye to everybody on the site & I wish you all the best in the future
so it's goodbye from him & goodbye from me

I thought CK was pulling out anyway or was that the other one? I dont know the finsncial implications of CK going if he is considering this or not but the forum is here for "free speech" to a degree i admit. Shouldnt anyone who posts here freely be able to be picked up on what they write? Maybe things could be rephrased so as not to cause unneccesary offence. I suppose we all ought to realise that some people have thicker skins than others and some people go at things like a bull in a china shop :-)
I think brokers still do have a place in car insurance but to a much lesser degree since the rise of the world wide wonder web. Everybody HAD to use a broker to get insurance years ago but now all you have to do is click a button. Specialist insurance is still a brokers job as they know who to place your business with and rightly so they need to have their time paid for but bog standard S-Max (or any other make) its just a click again. Go Compare, money supermarket or any of the other gazillion web sites are only doing what brokers do but you then have the information to go directly to the specific insurer & cut the broker (web site) out if you wish.

Looks like at the moment iam still here
what is funny these little bods in there suits in this country think they have full control
But as some on here know my little past , I was once dug in with 6 members of my group and our great Major .
now somewhere we should have not been
But to say not to much our food & water had not been around for about 3 days and the smell can get bad at times so you have to make a run for it .
We got out and some made it to base I saw my best friend hit a mine who God rest his soul makes me who iam today .
So a small jumped up Facebook admin ( who I have supported in the past with his running ) sends me a email about a post that I felt did not in one way help members & only said that our members could do better .
The question is this car insurance company charge you X then take there profit then give the club some money
I would ask is that really a saving for us
Also How much has the club got from this c Knott bloke
But I like also a bloke that runs the face-paint page who has not posted on here for ages then comes in with all guns blazing he forgets that many members have left this site because of face-paint and him leaving all the work to other admins
Poor old Zozzer takes the full knock on this site .
Home truths do hurt & Paul you should look at yourself first ?

Jason,
Whether you consider i'm on here swinging my weight around or not is irrelevant.
This club is bigger than just one person and yes I do mean you.
If as a result of your inconsiderate actions you mess up a commercial relationship that this club enjoys and thereby end up costing other members some money then you won't win many friends.
I'm sure that I could point you at various club rules that you have broken or are close to breaking and I would be fully justified in banning you from the site.
Don't try to make this personal just because you've been told off. My original email to you was private, polite and clear on why I thought you had overstepped the mark. I may not have as much time as you to be able to sit on the site for hours on end and that is simply because I have a job that requires me to concentrate on other matters. In addition to that I'm not really bothered as to your personal opinion of Facebook, or indeed any other social media site. Just because I don't reply to every new thread on the site does not mean that I am not lurking, reading and tinkering with matters. What I do and don't do is of no bother of yours.
If you want to be banned then just let me know.
Otherwise observe the rules and enjoy the relationships that you have formed over the years.
-
Talking of rules and trying to calm down this situation, I read all the rules this morning and guess what i found out? This may come as a shock to some members but .............. you cant sell HUMAN BODY PARTS OR REMAINS on here otherwise tbey will remove your add without warning WTF!! Now that is worth getting on your high horse about :-)
-
yes please
I would like to be banned
Iam not going to lower my self to your standards Paul
I wish all the s-max owners & ex-max owners all the best
I have made some great friends on the site & I hope my bad jokes have not been to bad
I also learnt a lot from you guys about cars
I hope we get that Haynes manual that we have been asking for this year .
So I say goodbye folks .
